Course Instructors

PMI OVOC courses are facilitated by our team of seasoned project management instructors.  All material that is presented is consistent with and supports current PMI published standards. 

Colin Lindsay, MSc, MPM, PMP

Colin has 20 years of experience as a project manager, having managed numerous IM/IT, business process optimization, and outsourcing projects. Prior to that, he spent a decade as a combat systems engineering officer in the Canadian Navy.

Colin teaches project management in graduate programs at the Université du Québec en Outaouais, as well as Zhejiang Gongshang University, Guizhou University and the Tianjin University of Technology. Colin attained his certification as a Project Management Professional in 1997 and received his Masters of Project Management in 1998. Colin has been helping prospective candidates prepare for the PMP certification exam for several years for the OVOC chapter of PMI and redesigned and developed the course material to bring it into alignment with versions 3, 4 and now 5 of the PMBoK.

Frank W. Townson, PMP, PMI-RMP, PRINCE2, CCMP

Frank served over 34 years in the federal public service, the last 18 years of which were in the property/realty/project management disciplines at Industry Canada, Treasury Board and at Foreign Affairs Canada (FAC). At FAC, he served as Director, Professional and Technical Services (architecture & engineering services, cost estimating, scheduling, risk management, commissioning, IT and IM); Director, Berlin Embassy Project (design, construction and delivery of a $225+ million PPP initiative); Director, Project Implementation (project management and delivery); and Director, Property Programs (portfolio strategy, realty analysis). Since his retirement from the public service, he has gained a further 15 years of experience in private and public sector consulting as well as in providing PMP, RMP, CAPM, and PRINCE2 exam preparation training and other general project and change management courses.

Frank is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI). In addition, he holds the PRINCE2 Practitioner professional certification and is a Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP). He has a Masters in Public Administration (cum laude) from Carleton University and a Bachelors in Political Science (Honours, cum laude) from Laurentian University.
