What does it really mean to lead with humility, and why does it matter?

 

In this interactive session, we explore the concept of Core Humility, a leadership framework that fosters clarity, self-awareness, and trust. Drawing from the book Core Humility – A Story of Leadership Authenticity, participants will reflect on their leadership approach and discover how humility can strengthen presence, build connection, and improve effectiveness.

 

Through guided reflection and practical exercises, this session moves beyond theory into real application. Participants will learn how to embrace their unique leadership style, recognize their value, and lead with greater intention in how they show up for themselves and their teams.

 

Grounded in insights from Gallup, Forbes, and the Academy of Management, this session offers a thoughtful and practical perspective on how humble leadership can enhance well-being, strengthen team dynamics, and drive meaningful performance.

 

 

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

• Identify key traits of humble leadership and understand its role in effective leadership
• Develop greater self-awareness to improve presence, confidence, and authenticity
• Analyze how humility impacts team dynamics, collaboration, and trust
• Apply practical strategies to incorporate humility into their leadership style

Kevin Lavering is an Author, Instructor and Program Director, with more than 25 years’ experience as a program and project manager, plus a decade of experience as a company trainer in emotional intelligence and leadership courses. He has a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Brigham Young University) and an MBA (Seattle University). Kevin also obtained his Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification in 2000. He is an experienced conference speaker on the topics of Authenticity and Humility leadership and has recently published his book, Core Humility. He has been married for 35 years and is the parent of five kids who have provided him with many training and learning opportunities around emotional intelligence.
