Lunch & Learn | The One Thing You Wish You Knew Sooner

Power Skills

Session Abstract

As project professionals, we spend a lot of time managing scope, risks, stakeholders, and outcomes. But there’s one factor that quietly shapes all of it: the impact we have on the people around us.

In this Lunch & Learn session, we’ll explore how your words, actions, and everyday presence influence trust, collaboration, and decision-making across teams and stakeholders. Through reflection, storytelling, and practical takeaways, you’ll learn how to recognize your influence in real time and use it more intentionally, whether you’re leading a meeting, navigating conflict, or building buy-in.

If you want stronger relationships, clearer communication, and more effective leadership on your projects, this session will give you a simple but powerful place to start.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Increase self-awareness of personal impact by identifying how their communication style and presence affect team dynamics and stakeholder reactions in day-to-day project interactions.
  • Strengthen communication and relationship-building using practical strategies to build trust, improve collaboration, and create more productive conversations, especially in high-pressure moments.

Apply emotional intelligence to decision-making by recognizing emotional cues (in self and others) and using them to make more intentional, people-aware leadership choices.
