Darlene McTavish – Office of the Secretariat
I’ve been working in office management and administration for the private sector for over 25 years. My working experience has included secretarial & clerical duties in a wide range of office functions including finance and payroll, records management, human resources and procurement. I held the position of Office Manager in several mid size, IT Management & Telecommunications consulting firms in Ottawa. In the mid 1990′s, wanting to expand my horizons with more challenging work, I was offered a position at Richmor Enterprises and entered the world of Conference and Event Planning.
During this period, Richmor was awarded a contract with the OVOC and this marked the beginning of my association with the chapter. In the year 2000, when the owners of Richmor voluntarily closed their doors, the OVOC offered me a personal contract to continue working for the chapter. Over the years the work has expanded to include many new responsibilities. In 2006, I moved from contract status to employee. I enjoy working for this vibrant chapter and take pleasure in interacting with both the members and non members of the OVOC.
